We are seeking an experienced Bookeeper at our Treendale store.

Start: early July 2025

Employment type: Casual

Work hours : 20 hours per week (5 hours per day, 4 days per week)

Work Location: Our Treendale store (upstairs office)

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Weekly Payroll

– Process employee wages, ensuring accuracy in hours worked and award rates applied.

– Maintain employee records, including leave balances and entitlements.

– Generate and distribute payslips to employees.

– Resolve payroll discrepancies or employee queries.

2. Superannuation Payments

– Calculate monthly superannuation contributions accurately.

– Process and approve super payments through the appropriate platforms.

– Maintain compliance with Australian superannuation laws and ensure timely payment.

3. BAS Lodgement (Monthly)

– Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) on time.

– Reconcile GST collected and paid to ensure accurate reporting.

– Address any issues or discrepancies in GST, PAYG withholding, or other tax components.

4. Bank Reconciliation

– Perform regular bank reconciliations for both Bunbury and Treendale stores.

– Cross-check bank statements against accounting records to identify discrepancies.

– Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and categorized.

5. Accounts Payable and Receivable

– Maintain accurate records of bills to pay, ensuring they are approved and paid on time.

– Monitor outstanding accounts owed to the business and follow up on overdue payments.

– Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve billing or payment issues.

6. Delivery Dockets and Daily Dispatching

– Coordinate daily dispatch of delivery dockets for orders or deliveries.

– Ensure accurate tracking and documentation of all outgoing goods.

7. Administrative Tasks

– Manage emails and correspondence relevant to bookkeeping and general admin.

– Organise and maintain financial and operational records for easy access and audits.

– Support the management team with financial insights and reports as needed.

8. General Bookkeeping and Administrative Duties

– Use accounting software (Xero) to maintain financial records.

– Ensure compliance with accounting and taxation regulations.

– Participate in the preparation of end-of-year financials or audits.

– Provide support with ad-hoc administrative tasks or projects.
